Today, while me and my dad were waiting for my brother’s company Christmas dinner to finish, we decided to do some Christmas shopping. In particular, we had to buy some gifts for all my small cousins.

When I was young, I remember the excitement of Christmas Eve, anticipating all the gifts I was going to receive from my parents, my grandparents, and my godparents. Getting a wrapped box was the best thing ever, almost as good as unwrapping it to add a new toy to the collection. My dad used to use cardboard to alter the shape of the wrapped box so that I had no idea what was in it.

What surprised me today was how good I felt picking and buying toys for my cousins. I liked picking out which Barbies I would give each of my cousins, what Nerf guns I should buy my little cousins, and what colorful game would my baby cousin find more exciting. Can’t wait to see their reaction when they open the gifts.

I guess Christmas does not disappear when we get older, we just graduate from gift receiver to Santa.
